The City of Santa Fe is inviting interested and community-minded people to join the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee. This is a great chance for those who care about how Santa Fe grows and develops to get involved in important city planning decisions.
This committee plays a key role in reviewing the city’s future growth, checking what kinds of infrastructure—like roads, water systems, and other public services—are needed as the city expands. The group also looks into the impact fees that the city charges for new development. These are fees paid by builders and developers to help cover the costs of new infrastructure.
Every year, the committee writes a report for the city’s governing body. This report includes updates on how the city is doing with its planning goals, how much money has come in from impact fees, how it has been spent, and how much is still left in the fund.
Who Can Join?
There are nine seats on the committee, and the city wants a good mix of people from different backgrounds.
To be eligible:
You cannot be an employee or official of any government agency.
You do not have to live within the city limits or in a specific council district.
At least four members must work in real estate, development, or the building industry.
One person will be chosen by each City Councilor and the Mayor, and then all members are approved by the City Governing Body.
If you are chosen, you will serve for two years, and you may be selected again once your term ends.
